She then continued her education at the University of Iowa College of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor degree. Yori practiced law for several years in Des Moines before deciding to pursue a career in education.

She went on to earn a Master's degree in Education from Drake University and began teaching at a local high school. Yori's passion for education and helping students succeed led her to eventually become a school principal.
